build for mom and dad

my parent's are finally retired now and spend alot more time on there pc. now they have finally realized that there old hp just isn't cutting it anymore.they will be mostly surfing ,movies and lots of photo's, so i decided to take on the build with a budget of $550. just so i could push this budget for higher end parts i went ahead and bought the case for them.
http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=6625
here are the parts i'm going to order
cpu
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103871
motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128445
ram
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820148333
os
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16832116754
cd burner
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106289
psu
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371016
hdd
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136795
i went with a pretty stout power supply just in case they wanted to add a gpu down the road. so i think its a pretty solid build and should last them a long time. so now i'm wordering what you guys would change or recommend?

Why the micro atx board? small case?

I've found matx to be a little warm.. if you have room in the case go with a normal form factor.. more room to install and for air to flow.

cooling isn't going to be an issue, the case has more than enough airflow.

This memory has the same specs and is $33 after rebate: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820178265

If you don't want to bother with MIR's, this set has lower voltage and is $5 cheaper than the one you posted: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231443

Edit: This one's $50 ($40 AR), 1600 CAS8, and comes with a 4GB usb. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820220559

I too would recommend a low profile case i.e.

, or even more low profile such as Antec Minuet 300. It might just be my love for low profile cases, or the other fact that you most likely don't need a huge case that needs to have good airflow to fit a tower cooler & overclock for them.
You should look in online deals for some good buys. I put up good deals on there often, i.e. some Patriot RAM I've found is on there now.
I'm really tired so any full suggestion will have to wait till tomorrow. Daylight savings time really kills your eyes

Last thing: $50 1600 CL7-8-7 (6-8-6 capable) G.Skill Ripjaws. Another good RAM deal you may want to pick.
Good night!

rip jaws look like a pretty good deal...i've just never tried them. maybe i'll switch them out with mine and see which i like best. i've built to pc's with the gigabyte 880g and i got to say it is an incredible little board. this will be my first experience with an athonx4 though. i was going to use the 555x2 but kind of wanted the quad. i hope i won't regret no l3 cache. i'll be surfin hard today looking for last minute pricing. i have a couple promo codes in my email for os and hdd's. let me know if any real good deals pop up.

Hey there. Don't know if you're looking for a CPU and mobo still, but Microcenter has some killer combo deals right now. You mentioned the Athlon X4 640. Well if you get that, you get a free Biostar A780L3G AM3 mATX mobo! Other great deals here:

Hope that helps!
