But do you have the RAM in the right slots for Dual Channel mode

They should be in same colored slots. lb-lb or w-w. I'd suggest putting them in white and white instead of lb-lb, just cause thats how mine was setup. I assume its for more space from cpu cooler.

Yeah, I was running in single channel mode until "I saw that I was" in AIDA64
And yeah, my cooler gets in the way of the nearest slot to the CPU

glad i could help... yeah you need to have the RAM in different slots.
On that board you have RAM slots with 2 different colors, grey and blue.
They either need to go in both the grey slots or both the blue slots, it doesn't matter which. If he ever wanted to populate all 4 slots it wouldn't matter as long as same size and same timings.
