What case should I get for my alternate rig?

Hi OCN.

Archduke here.

I've been upgrading a lot of parts in my main rig recently (my sig rig), and I was thinking of throwing all my old components into another case. That's where I run into a problem.

The first PC I ever bought for myself was from ibuypower and came in this awful Tuniq case with no cable management features and ONE fan (a side fan, lol). That's the only spare case I have now and I really really don't want to use it. Since I bought it though, I've become much more case savvy. My sig rig is in an Antec Twelve Hundred, for example.

The question is this: What case should I buy for my old components?

My preferences in order of importance:

1. ATX Mid Form Factor
2. Air Flow
3. Cable Management
4. Price
5. Convenience of Use
6. Aesthetics

I don't know if this is important information, but I will be using a Corsair H50 CPU cooler. On my big Antec, there wasn't really a convenient way to mount the radiator as part of a push/pull INTAKE. I had to mount it as a push/pull exhaust.

I also may want to experiment with custom liquid cooling in this case (before I start throwing water around inside my big case with all the expensive stuff in it). This isn't a high priority for this purchase, but it'd be nice.

Thanks again, OCN. You guys are awesome!

Any of the HAF series are great cases. Don't own one but if I was in the market for one....

for a spare rig, I would say HAF 912 or 922. If you have the extra coin to pony up then maybe even a corsair 600T

Hot damn. I just looked up the HAF 912 and 922 on Newegg. The 922 looks like an amazing case. Is it worth the extra $50 over the 912, though? I don't know.

The Corsair 600T looks great as well, but I think that's a little too expensive for this particular system.

Why not get one of the motherboard box cases shown in this news article
http://www.overclock.net/hardware-ne...rves-case.html

Cardboard is awesome! Need more airflow? Punch a few holes in it! Want it to look prettier? Use colored duct tape!

If I hadn't seen that article, I would've suggested a milk crate case to make it a test bench, and a great conversation piece! lol

Take a look at my HAF 912 in my profile album (though I only have a mATX mobo in it) to see some actuality anyway.

I'd personally recommend the A05N-B by Lian Li. There's also a case that'll be released soon by Fractal Design - Arc Midi I believe it's called. Fantastic cooling options, very affordable - probably around 600T prices or lower and looks fantastic. I'd personally get a nice case that looks timeless for a spare computer.
