800D Airflow

Thread Starter
I am getting a 800D and I wanted to check to see if my airflow plan is good. Here is a diagram:

1 are 120mm Yate Loon D12SL-12 Red LED Case Fans.
2 is stock Blademaster on 212+.
3 is stock Corsair exhaust
4 is 140mm Yate Loon D14SM-12 Case Fan
And the unmarked arrow is also a stock Corsair Fan.

How does it look?

Looks OK though when I was planning my 800D build, a few people told me that having the top fans in different directions might create some unwanted "turbulence".

I have my top three fans as exhaust and all other fans as intake.

I may have gone overkill with my 800D, but I replaced all Corsair fans with higher CFM fans as well as putting another 140mm fan under the Corsair #4 fan to help pull more air into the case as well as a Lian Li front bay / intake fan that takes up 3 slots, just to get more air into the case. Then again, I have an open 480 that is now venting inside my case so I'm in a different situation.

Top should be all exhaust. Otherwise looks solid.

Makes sense. I was hoping to get some more cool air on the cooler. I think I'll try both and see which give better temps.

Check this out. It's the best resource for 800D cooling setups I've found yet, and the last one worked very well for me. The GPU fan thing he does also really helped with my CF 6970 temps. Good luck!

Like as said above change the top to all exhaust otherwise you will get recirculation of hot air..

also the back will but sucking in warm air from what is outputted by the PSU and graphics card.

Its against convection but it might be worth trying everything as intake and then making 3 and 2 output then you will have all hot air going outt the back
