New Build!

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

So my friend has recently introduced me to these forums and I am finding it great so far . I am looking to build a rig mainly for gaming. My budget will be $1100 CAD after taxes. I would prefer an intel build (i5 2500k) with an Asus mobo. I am new to pc gaming so I don't think I will be overclocking just yet. I have the keyboard, mouse, and monitor. I do need an OS though. I am also buying everything from this site:

www.canadacomputers.com

what can you guys build for me?

Thanks for all the help!

Just to let you know if purchasing in store is a possibility for you that Canada Computers price matches other Canadian vendors.

See the policy here; http://www.canadacomputers.com/PriceMatch_Policy.php

or if you ordering from a different retailer is an option check out the online and instore price matching at NCIX.

I've saved quite a bit of money doing price matching at NCIX.

Thanks for the help guys...I am actually purchasing in store. Also, ciceu4 I need an OS (win7 x64). I as thinking of getting the 560 instead of the 570 and upgrading something else that you posted like the HD and maybe the coolermaster storm scout instead of a antec 300?

+rep to both of you

Ok guys..so I tried to put something together myself. What does everyone think? I do not plan on overclocking the CPU just yet..is that fine? Or, am I going to be bottlenecking?

(Sorry for the double post )

looks pretty good. I'm a fan of Gskill, and Corsair for RAM. always done me right where others haven't.

looks good to me, for stock you'll be fine, but if you're overclocking the CPU (Very easy to run 4.5 Ghz daily) I'd recommend a new CPU cooler, something like a cheap $24.99 one. or less later on.

very similar to my $1,000 USD build the thread below. Check it out. ordering it in a few minutes if I find a better case combo

Thanks for the reply! Is there any specific ram that you would recommend? I read some reviews on the one I posted it seemed pretty good

Hmm..the vengeance seems like a popular choice of ram to use. Based on what I've read both the ripjaws and vengeance are good. Is there any reason for the preference over vengeance? Also, is it really required to get an 8gb set? From what I've seen there isn't much of a performance gain.
