My Phenom x 6 1055T Bottlenecking???

Ok so ive been on here for ahwile trying to figure out a problem. I have two Radeon HD 6950s in crossfire with a 1000Watt PSU and a 1055T OC'd to about 3.8GHz With water cooling. The crossfire is not scalling at all in most games where others have had excellent scaling such as BFBC2 and crysis and AvP. The only game to scale for me was Metro 2033 and I got a 100% Scalling!!

People are telling me that my CPU is to blame so I OC'd. Another said my 1600 x 900 Was to blame so I put it on 32inch flat screean 1080p. Same issues.

I am no longer geting negitive scalling but now its just even. My gpu load on both cards is about 35-50% on each card when crossfiring. I get killer fps when disabling crossfire but I already bought the card so was wondering ***?

Is my hexacore at 3.8GHz really being bottlenecked? or could it be something else, that I am overlooking in a stupid noob way?

I will run any tests you all say to help just need to know what is up. I figure if my 1055T was really the bottleneck then why would metro 2033 scale so dAmn good?

Running stock clocks on them with 11.4 preview drivers and Crossfire profiles. Tried 11.2 as well same issue. Tried two different mobos same issue, reinstalled windows (stoped negitive scalling) but still no improvment. Thanks for any help people!

no its fine grrr

Some games that only use 2 cores will be bottlenecked. Two 6950s are extremely powerful, and the Phenom II can't take advantage of its power like the i7 can due to less efficient architecture.

In most games, you will be fine, but there will be games that don't scale very well.

The charts only has a 5970, and your two 6950s should be much more powerful. But you can get a good idea of some of the bottlenecks:

so basically when it comes to crossfireing some kick ass cards phenom x 6 is a peice of garbage. You know they should really state on their web site "If your going to crossfire these get an i7" It would really save me a head ache!!

I egt NO-SCALE on any game but metro 2033 that just seems weird I should atleast see a little scale on some right?

Dude-you do realise that going from 1600x900 to 1920x1080(1080p) is hardly any difference.I just read all your posts in the last week.Obviously you are doing it wrong. You are trying to do too many things too fast.

It all depends on the games you are playing, if you are playing games that only utilize a couple cores you will certainly see bottlenecking with your videocards.

It really gets annoying seeing people denying the existence of bottlenecks when it comes to phenom II's and high end video card setups like yours. All it does is wastes the persons money who buys all of it after being told there would be no issues.(not sure if that happened to you but I have seen other people get told the same thing)

What games are you playing? Games like bad company 2, just cause 2 and anything else that utilizes 4+ threads should be giving you better gpu usage than you are seeing.

Well redwoodz all I can say to you is If im doing it wrong then show me what im doing wrong? Dont come into a thread say "your doing it wrong" and then give no advice thats just dumb. As for to much to fast if I got the time and money then whats the prob?

@SCYY I did get talked into the phenom ahwile ago but it made sense to me versus the 300+ sandy bridge. I play the games mentioned in my original post including Bad Company 2. Like I said metro 2033 is the only game I see any scalling. I paid so mutch for dual 6950s that I just want to see the performance increase already. Im ready to jump ship to i7 2600k if it will unleash these bad boys. What do ya think will it?

A X6 WONT bottleneck anything in your pc, ATI is known for bad crossfire drivers and i like ATI regardless. Try to do driver sweeper in safe mode, reinstall drivers, and make sure all the games you have have crossfire support. Since some games can really suck because they dont got that support. (maybe try the crossfire files that AMD releases once in a while)

I reinstalled these driver ten times over with earlier driver releases and newer previews. Plus everyone that has 6950s in crossfire is getting great scaling in the games Im not the only thing i can see i dont have is an i7 2600k. I dont want to jump ship but I dont want to waste these cards either.

will an i7 2600k give me the power to use these or wont matter?
