Like I said if i have to continue overclocking the **** outta this processor gonna just go i7.

Do you thik just adding 2 more monitors for eyefinity would help?
i have two eyefinitly computer setup at work for people to play. its using a phenom II 965 clocked at 3.9ghz with cpu-nb at 2600...scale just fine. resoultion is set at 5040x1050. games like battefield 2...i get about 70 to 80 frames on high and world of warcraft i get about 100+ on high setting as well. left for dead 2...i get about 125 to 150 frames whild everythign is set on high. it could be a driver issue for you if anything. try to bring your ht frequency down to 2000ghz or as close to it as possible and try it again. see if it helps. make sure you max everything out on the setting.

Yup lowered a notch no diff. I tried the whole driver sweeper thing and the profiles wich come with installer in11.4 ccc preview. tried 11.2 and 11.1 with all profiles and sweeper done. Been working all day long on this for four days and am giving up everyone who has a 6950 crossfire has a 2600k and they all seem to agree its the phenoms fault. Well I am giving up and bought a sandy bridge and board.

Stock speeds for sandy 3.4GHz will hopefully unleash these beasts if not back to the oc drawing board. Well im crashing for the night thanks to everyone for their help.

ya but your sig says you dont have 6950s crossfired? 6950s are third best amd card out right now and not far behind the second. Thats why I think they need an i7 To awaken them

Brother, read the whole thread before u post.
amd processors bottleneck when running cpu intensive games.
i.e Far Cry 2. BFBC2. Crysis. Fallout.

I already stated that i speak through experience and i am giving the OP the perfectly correct advice that he is looking for.
When people like you post here with little to no experience with the hardware that is in mention, people get confused.

Someone else stated that other people are using the 1090t with that OC and it wasn't failing, not once in my post did i state that my CPU was failing, i did however clearly advise that its power wasnt sufficent for the graphics hardware that it was running.

To the OP. do not stress further, your CPU is the bottleneck and no matter how hard u overclock it, it will not suffice. TY

Show 100% gpu usage in crysis without setting aa to ridiculous levels to cover up the cpu choking in cpu intensive areas. I can guarantee you can't.

To op, best way to be sure it is a cpu bottleneck and not some odd driver or card issue is set your aa settings to edge detect in CCC and run crysis at 8aa(24aa), if your gpu usage ends up being 100% or anywhere near it it shows that it is infact that cpu that is bottlenecking the cards since you will be putting far more load onto the gpu but you will still be capped at the speed the cpu can feed the gpus.

When I turn down the vcore it wont boot at all with 2 different boards two. I have also suspected for ahwile that maybee i have a bunk 1055 chip. Had a overclocker help through this forum he told me my vcore was to high but its at its lowest while being stable.

1)6990
2)5970
3)6970
4)6950

Its fourth

With regards to the orginal topic. Download playclaw and check your CPU usage in game, take some screenshots and post em here.
I doubt the x6 will be at 100% usage.

The 1055t IS your bottleneck.
The main reason i upgraded to the i7 2600k, is that my crossfire 6970's were lacking with my 1090t OC @ 4.2ghz.
ANY amd cpu cannot utilize the full potential of crossfireX atm.

The reason metro scales 100% is because of its coding. theres a utilization balance and metro is 100% gpu.
Other games like crysis, far cry2 and BFBC2 are more CPU hungry, therefore the better cpu will always show better scaling.

If you want your cards to run free, pick up an i7 2500k or 2600k.
Full stop, do not let anyone tell you otherwise, i speak through experience.

/thread
nope the cpu is not the bottleneck technically speaking, its the way the cpu is connected with the cpu thats the problem.
an amd 6 core will keep up with a 920 clock for clock, but once you throw some 3d at it it takes a crap, i dont know why.
theoretically the HT link shoulde be enough bandwidth for 3 cards but for some reason its not, again i have no explanation for this, you will see what i mean if you were to bump your ht link up to about 3000mhz and run 3dmark 06 vs running it with the ht link at about 2000-2300.
