Beat Dragon Age 2. Kinda left unfulfilled :( *Possible Spoilers* - Page 2

I'm playing through it a 2nd time now. I think it is a great, well rounded game. Lots of fun, and the atmosphere and depth is excellent (like every other bioware game). However, at the end of my first run, I did feel like something was missing. It is significantly shorter than origins, and that was a big let down for me. I don't really get why bioware decided to have all the quests center around the same areas (over and over). Really think they dropped the ball on that part...I am getting really sick of fighting in the same alleys, caves, and mountain sides over and over. Had they included more places to go that look and feel different (like in Origins) the game would have been exponentially better for me.

Exactly. The same damned city. Almost all the caves and stuff were recycled.

Would have thought they had learnt their lesson from Mass Effect.

Thats a shame. You have missed some truly amazing games.
But I agree for the most part.
I pretty much regret buying DA2 and I only buy DLC for good games.

I gave most recent Bioware games a try, not sure how I missed out (?). Besides Mass Effect 1, nothing decent has come out of Bioware.

They did. Milking you out of DLC's and sequels

But Bioware is a business and if the drooling masses will buy a crap game and buy add ons to make it good then thats who they will market to.
Ive said for a few years that I was surprised that EA hadnt strangled the life out of them yet but I fear that I may be wrong about that from now on.

I for one dont keep playing a game if it cant deliver on the first playthrough.
Im a little after Hawke becomes the Champion and im beginning to loose not only hope it gets better but interest in continuing to play.
If Mass Effect 3 is as sketch as DA2 I dont think I will be recommending Bioware anymore.

bioware as we know it, is dead.

Since EA bought them, they have opened up more bioware offices, merged mythic with bioware, and also brought in other talent.

When you see the bioware name anymore, more than likely its 90% different people working on the projects, and its EA who makes the decisions. You can see an extreme change in design, story, combat of games they have made since being purchased by EA.

EA is milking bioware products like Activision is milking COD. Why because they can. No one else has the bioware name when it comes to RPGs.

bioware is dead to me anymore. I prefer my RPGS designed around having the consumer being intelligent. Not everytime i hit a button something awesome happens. or the laughable , think like a general, fight like a spartan.

Apparently. Totally deflates any hype I felt about ME3.

Sensationalist aside (lolmetacritic user reviews), I thought the game was good. A solid 8/10, which I'd say the first game was about too. New Nvidia beta drivers were released today, maybe they fixed my DX11 SLI micro-stuttering. I'll probably replay the game as evil Hawke--and I'm curious if a mage can side with the templars.

In the last 12 years? Let's see, BG2+expansion, Neverwinter Nights+expansions and Knights of the Old Republic. Clearly some terrible games from Bioware.

Last 11 years fine.

NWN 1 was their transition into 3D so it's understandable the game was mediocre.

As for KOTOR I can't really give an opinion, I'm really not into Starwars, Shrek and E.T, all that puberty stuff.
