Yes, but it shuts up half of the PC gamer elitists that I hear whining about every multiplatform game that comes out that uses the same exact textures on PC as console.

Maybe this will teach them that graphics mean very little. Probably not...

I realize that this is a computer enthusiast forum, but people sound like idiots when they bash on consoles just because they're using older hardware. Sorry guys, the game is just as fun on the 5 year old hardware. It turns out the 50% higher res textures and higher AA didn't actually make it any more fun than it already was.

I have every intention of waiting for the "ultimate" edition AKA the finished game. I am so done buying DLC, if they want me to buy some DLC the day after the game comes out they can SellMoreD.ownloads

While I agree with your point, I will say that I think the High Res pack is a must b/c one thing that Bioware does bad is blending textures on high res people. Take Morrigan's necklace for example.

It also only has 25 ratings, just saying.

The combat/talent mechanics were fun and intuitive and the side-quests were more immersive.

(Spoilers)
That being said, the main plot seems disjointed. There isn't really much to connect the first two acts to the impending war between templars and mages except a dead viscount and a lyrium laced sword.

In addition, the reuse of content really hurt the game. Part of what made Origins so compelling was that you were traveling across the far reaches of Ferelden to stop a blight that threatened to consume all of Thedas. The fact that most of everything you do is in the city of Kirkwall (which isn't even the largest city in the Free Marches, Starkhaven is) makes the storyline seem less significant.

The game is fun, addictive and has great graphics. The story was worlds better than that cut-and-paste LotR knockoff they did for DA:O. Your character has better options, he's not just emo nice or emo mean. The game tries to streamline the weapon options so as not to bog you down with endless item management.

There were only 4 flaws in it. The first is that they did away with the in-game finishing moves. While I'd agree that after your 400th Ogre, you get tired of it, they're still worlds better than the cut scenes. They could have easily kept the in game kill scenes for the bosses.

The other issue is the limited maps. Everything is extremely reused. The inside of the houses are almost all the same. The inside of the caves are laid out the same. The inside of the dungeons are the same.

The third was the AI. I had to massively micro to stay ahead in Hard mode. I felt like i was playing a game of StarCraft. The characters AND the bosses did the dumbest things. The head Qunari fought me and was practically swinging at air in front of him while i was wailing on him from behind. I'd rather the AI be much harder and the health be turned down on the enemies so it feels more real. It took me like 20 min of wailing on this guy b/c he had 4 health potions AND he had more health than a humanoid should have.

The last is that the 'options' you choose for some of your missions still have the same outcome. Namely the Keeper/Merrill and Hawkes Mom.
nightmare mode is ridiculous, sending in 4 waves with two bosses at the same time.

Ok Interview.

Here's a quote from DLC

Quote:
Normally, here's where a final score for a review would go, but there is no scale in existence that goes low enough to be able to score this game. Giving it a -100% is too nice. Giving it a 0/100 is insulting to the number 0. So regretfully I am unable to give a final score as there isn't a scale in existence that goes low enough.

However I can, and will say an honest heartfelt congratulations to EA and Bioware, for they have finally created an undefeatable, 100% working anti-piracy solution, which is:

"Make a game so ridiculously **** that it's not even worth pirating."

I have been playing DA2 for a few hours now, and while it does feel a bit different from Origins, I am still having a good time playing it. I really haven't experienced anything, as of yet, that makes me regret my purchase. There are some things such as friendly fire no longer exists on anything but nightmare mode and no armor customization for party members are a couple of things that should have stayed the same. The graphics though are much improved as are the models for weapons and armor.

I have had it crash on me once, but have since updated my gfx driver to the 11.4 preview drivers which supposedly have a fix for DA2 hanging on 5800 series cards. No other hangs or crashes since. It's running 50-60fps maxed on a single monitor. I have to turn down some settings to achieve that in eyefinity, which I just can't bring myself to do, lol.

there is friendly fire in nightmare mode. many times i had my mage fireball the whole team because i didn't control her properly or ice me because i was too close to the target.
