I REALLY don't understand why people are having performance issues, this game runs 5 times smoother for me than Origins did! LOL (yes, with the hi-res textures)

And I rather like the art direction in this game. It's very unique.

Post your driver version it might help others who are having performance issues.

I think I've posted this in another thread, but the blatant lack of attention to detail in several places really puts me off. Non-interactive NPC textures (faces in particular), beggars wrists, and character hand textures/models are all evidence of this. The graphics improved in some aspects, but remained the same or were arguably worse in others when compared to Origins. The often mentioned copied and pasted dungeons/landscapes are a big disappointment for me. It's to the point where I just want to move on with the story quests because there's no excitement in exploration.

Story-wise, I'm just interested enough to keep playing, but not thrilled like I was with Origins. I feel like I'm being rushed along, being given only the important details (or having them shoved down my throat). What's worse is that often, dialogue options are pointless. As an example, I remember clearly reloading a previous save hoping to save the lives of several qunari only to have the same exact cinematic play. The worst offense I've managed to catch so far deals with the Arishok. While trying not to spoil anything, I can say that regardless of the dialogue option you select, you'll get the same cinematic.

In terms of gameplay, I've been playing a rogue. I find combat passable when there are multiple enemies (and I regenerate stamina after killing an opponent), but when it's a single boss I find myself sitting around waiting for cooldowns. I remember the other day I was complaining about this to a friend over ventrillo while in combat and the ONLY button I was pressing was the push to talk bind on my mouse. In origins, I felt much more engaged. This applies to just about the whole party as well. Often I'll find myself pausing to see if anyone has cooldowns up, hoping that I actually get to DO something as opposed to watching the health bars. This is not a mark of good gameplay, and if they wanted to cater to the Call of Duty crowd, this is not the way to do it.

These are my gripes summed up. I'll reserve final judgment for when I beat the game, but with homefront coming out tonight, I get the feeling DA2 will take a backseat.

and this is the guy who said "we were asked if we could make it so you look cool while walking around, so we made that possible"... i want to see what he thinks and how he defends himself for (from what i can tell) butchering the game

i'm not buying DA2 untill it's half price with all DLC and expansion packs and even then i probably won't like it if it's as bad as the demo made it look.

-e- and i notice he dodges the metacritic ratings and says 6/10, but ignores the fact that the game has scored 4 overall from users.

really that article didn't say anything of value, and didn't explain how the game can be so monumentally flawed and damaged coming out of the original., i'm not talking about the story or saying they can't change things, but look at the user reviews for crying out loud - i'm not the only one whose feeling really upset about this.

talks about high res DX11 textures and somehow that's supposed to be a concession to PC when it for a lot of people doesn't run well and in any event looks bland and has a whole lot of reused assets? get out. seriously, get out. and those textures weren't even finished by the time the game went gold. what else does that say?

I use this one:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-wi...ta-driver.html

After reading through the BioWare forums the day before release, the devs said this driver version was the suggested version for those with the texture pack. You'll notice it's a Beta, but it addresses DA2 specifically in the patch notes.

Prime example of the type of hyperbole we've come to see from this crowd. He gave the graphics a 4/10 so I guess that means the average game these days is a 2.

Dood.....have you PLAYED the new Bionic Commando? It is the WORST game I've played over the last 7-10 yrs. You know the ratings mean dick when Bionic Commando is scoring better in the user reviews than DA2

I haven't. I'm just saying 25 ratings are hardly sufficient data to base a rating on.
