keyboard problem

Thread Starter
do keyboard signals (pressing any key) go throu the processor first, or the rams?

because when my CPU usage is over 15% or so, I start to lag. whenever i press any key, I'll have 1 or 3 secs lag. however, i get no lag if I use my mouse. no lag to open anything with mouse. it's as if my keyboard is lagging the whole system whenever I use it.

i'm not sure why. I think it's either:
1) speedstep.
2) my 16gb ram cards are set to lowest (666mhz or something) - they are rated 1600mhz.
3) I'm using the Microsoft keyboard application for my keyboard

Since I plan to OC with proper settings, I'm testing my PC with stock settings to make sure that everything is perfectly stable before I start OCing.

Thanks in advance!

Oh, Intellitype Pro. I don't have any experience with that, but maybe it's acting up. I suppose you could try uninstalling it and then reinstalling it, but I don't know how much that will help. So, it would just be an experiment more than anything.

uninstalling the keyboard didn't fix it. disabling speedstep also didn't fix it. I don't understand why would I lag when i use the keyboard and that my CPU usage is 20%

When was the last time you rebooted your system? Or do you just turn it off when you're done every day?

in my first post, I said that whenever my CPU usage reaches 20% or so, the pc starts to lag whenever I press any key. this lag usually lasts 1-3 secs. however, no lag if I use my mouse. weird, right?
