Thought that they required different SB chipsets as seen in AMD roadmap before. (There were supposed to be 3 or 4, IIRC). Its getting confusing now.
its not required but BD will not run at its full potential, the 900s are needed for that. They say that an regular am3 board will be capable of running a bulldozer with a bios update (not sure if that set in stone). the real surprise is that UEFI can run with the 800s chipset, although benchmarks have not seen a significant improvement in boot speed compare to the old bios.

this board looks pretty damn sick, 8 sata ports!!! and it comes with a front port usb 3.0. core unlock, didn't know asrock can up the ante like this

Yo, it's a nice board and all, but I'm going with Asus on this one, sorry...

I want my first bulldozer CPU to be sitting on a really sweet board!

Correct me if i am wrong.
As i understand the new socket am3+ will support the 8 core BD.
And motherboards from ASUS with am3 sockets will support BD but with less cores with a bios update,NOT 8 core BD.
That is why the new socket has extra pins.

LOL. Black socket. No BIOS gimmicks. SCORE!!

It is an 890FX chipset. It has an ATI HD4290 in it (might have the numbers wrong).

This motherboard looks killer, too bad I'm skipping this generation, I'm still putting together my 1055T rig.

I thought the 890GX has the ATI HD4290? Because it has onboard video as opposed to the 890FX which does not have onboard video??
