ATI and AMD have always been the cheap gamer on a budget parts. Hell even I have a 965BE with 2 5870s. But just because its cheap doesn't make it better. AMD/ATI have been edged out every year since 2006.
Also im talking about X68(Not x58) which is not to be confused with Z68 which is completely different.
What's the point of comparing pure performance? Yeah, the Intel 980X may be faster than the 1100T...Compare performance for the price for an measurement that means something in real life, comparing pure performance is just letting Intel and AMD wave their ****s around in a field to see who has the biggest.

Actually AMD lost against the P4 once Northwood came out, Athlon XP just couldn't scale high enough in clock speed, but the heat differences made it worth it for most people.
