Anyone have any bad experiences with water cooling? - Page 4

Any coolant/water becomes conductive at some level at some point. Distilled is free of particulate matter when sealed, which is why it is recommended; no minerals or creepy crawlies. Anything that passes through metals will pickup ions and particles of the metal causing it to become somewhat conductive.

Coolants are overrated and don't cool better than distilled. If you want colors, get dyes and use sparingly. Colored tubing is the best way to avoid any issues with premixes or coolants.

I took apart a koolance exos v2 because the pump was really loud even at very low settings. I replaced it with a 500 l/hr ocz pump. I had to fit this pump into a huge hole in the reservoir that came with the exos. I used plastic super glue to get it to hold in place then covered the joint in silicone caulk. It took about 5 tries to get it completely sealed. I did a lot of close watching at first but when i saw it was not leaking i stopped looking. The first time it took about a week for a puddle to form, the second time it took about 2 weeks for a smaller puddle to appear. The last time i did it unsuccessfully it literally was fine for a month then i saw a puddle and nearly pooped myself. I could not for the life of me pinpoint where the leak was coming from. It could have been the hoses but the final time i also sealed all connections with plastic super glue and put on the screw type clamps that i got at the local hardware store. Really got fed up with the mystery puddle every so often. I am currently in the process now of getting rid of the feser fluid because i dont want gunk building up. Hopefully i will not run into any leaks.
