JVC HARX700 question - Page 3

I got my DX3 about two years ago from Butterfly Photo or something. The DX3 is discontinued so it's no longer sold anywhere. The DX3 also has really harsh treble and very little bass so EQing (I'm not kidding) is recommended. Female vocals do sound really good and it's very detailed compared to the RX700 and RX900 (modded or not). It's a completely different headphone from the HA-RX900. The RX900 sounds absolutely sloppy once you get used to the DX3.

I've not heard the DX1 but one day I probably will get one. There are a couple of threads on Head-Fi that cover the DX1 and the DX3. I believe fps_hero owned both at one point.

Yea I saw some of the old threads on headfi and I believe you posted there. The general concensus seem to be that the DX3 was all around a better headphone than the DX1. Its true I do love the bass on the 900's and probably wouldn't like anything with excessive highs and no bass. I was just wondering if JVC had anything better to offer as I love bang for the buck.
Well, JVC does have better headphones to offer in the form of the HP-DX700 and HP-DX1000 but those are well over anyone's budget TBH and you can get similar sounding headphones for less (Denon D5000, for example).

Are JVC HARX700 completely out of stock? I can't find any online. Should I get the 900 instead for $45? Hows the 900 for trance and electronic music?
Wait. Just wait. The RX700 usually goes out of stock first and then the RX900 goes out of stock. Neither headphone's discontinued so they will be restocked in a month or two. Prices will settle back to normal once inventory is high again. It's been doing this since the middle of 2008 and I'm sure it'll do it again.

Hope this is true. Amazon has the RX700 for $55. So its going to go down to $30 hopefully? I am really itching to make the jump on the RX900. Isn't the 900 better for electronic music?

Again, if you're looking for bass, the 900 is where it's at. The 700 is more balanced overall. That's the driving factor in your decision.
Also, the 900 pads are leather; the 700 pads are pleather.
By the way, where are they $45?

I was looking for some 700`s saw they were pretty much even priced with the 900`s, and just got the 900`s new on Amazon. Im more of a music guy some IDC.

Why do the prices fluctuate so much? The first time I went to get 700`s they were $40 new on Amazon, then when I went to buy (2 days later), they were $60.

Usually approaching the last of the inventory, Amazon bumps up the prices (and seemingly just about everyone else). Just wait for the last remaining suckers to buy them and then wait for another shipment to come in to drop them back to around $40.
