$1100 Build Help

Thread Starter
Hey guys, I sold my PC months ago and regretted it like I usually do. I was wondering if you guys could help me out with a few combinations that I'm looking for.
So I have a monitor, keyboard, mouse, Corsair 6**watt PSU, and a DVD drive available from past builds. I'm not sure exactly what the PSU is, I would like to say 650 . . .

I'm looking for different options to spend the $1100 with. I can't go above that at all, my funds are limited. The only thing I could probably take into consideration is shipping, but that's about it. No MIR.
So this is what I'm looking for:

1. mATX build based around the FT03 (Don't forget the slim drive!) I also don't know if the PSU I currently own will fit that case.

2. mATX build without FT03 (more budget oriented case? gamer stylized cases will be laughed at)

3. Standard ATX

Last build I had was somewhere around $900 and I had a nice 80gb SSD included, but I suppose this time the graphics card I was looking at is just a tad too expensive to fit into the build. I also really want that ASUS Xonar Xense Sennheiser Combo, but that might be unrealistic with my price. I had one built on newegg last night, but I forgot to save it. I think I had the build in the high $900 range (for option #1). Sorry for all of the rambling, I'm hungover and have yet to go to sleep. Oh and I like those Corsair Water-coolers, but again, not really needed.

It's either spending my money on this, or buying a bunch of yummy shisha and getting a 3ds when it releases. Still have yet to make up my mind . . .

If you're going to dump $1100 into a build, then wait until bulldozer.

Bulldozer is June
If you're going to dump $1100, spend on a full ATX. Very few decent mATX boards if at all. In fact your current one is very unsuitable for the 955 as it's an MSI with their infamous 4+1 time bombs!

At this point, if you're pushing the $1100 range, I would highly advise you to go Sandy Bridge. This is purely based on a consumer standpoint right now as I own an X6 rig AND an Intel laptop. A very nice 2600K build is very doable within your budget.

If your heart is set on AMD however, like stated before, hold out until Bulldozer.

The PC is something I can't wait for, I don't care about bulldozer, that's enough on that recommendation.

Yeah I'm not too worried about choosing between AMD or Intel at this point, if you think Sandy Bridge is better would it be possible to stay within my budget I'm all for advice.

This is something that you can consider. I didn't include a motherboard because Newegg hasn't listed all of its LGA1155 options back yet. I strongly recommend the Gigabyte UD4 though. Play around with the configurations and see what you like.

Yea if you're not waiting for BD, sandy is the way to go right now for this budget range. The i5-2500/K is in the same price area as a 1090T, but pretty well spanks the 1090T in every challenge. The price point of the Phenom series will have to drop sometime in order to stay competitive, for now, everything from the 955 and up is loosing ground on being "value" oriented CPUs. SB competes well across it's price points very handily.
