Can't Format Storage Drive After reinstalling Windows 7

Thread Starter
I reinstalled Windows 7 on my SSD but It wont let me reformat my storage drive in Disk manager. I don't care if I lose all my data. How do I make it usable?

Does it not show up in disk manager? Or does it just not let you format it?

You could always boot to GParted which I guarantee will allow you to format the drive. It's a linux live disc designed specifically for partitions.

What do you mean won't let you do anything to it? like the options are grayed out? Is the drive not initialized? Sata/ide?

try GParted to see if it can format that. Or boot to your windows installation disc, that will allow you to format the drive.

Does the drive have a drive letter and/or is it still usable? if so, try running a "chkdsk *drive letter:* /r/v" on it to see if that resolve the issue.
