Some are kind of mean spirited too. I logged onto one of their public computer for 5 minutes to check my email and then logged off. One of the employees logged into my gmail account because I must have forgot to unclick "save my information" and the dude sent a massive email to everyone in my address book telling everyone I was coming "out of the closet". Luckily people who know me knew it must be a joke because I am the farthest thing from it yet it sent those emails to my professors as well which angered me.

I know it was a Microcenter employee because it sent out the next day after I left and 10 minutes before they opened the store according to my ip check I did on my Gmail account.

So basically if they give you a hard time or start acting weird just come back in the afternoon or the next day and there is a new group of sales people there. That is what I do.
gotta be more careful

Guys,I am sure that is the MC rep who joined to reply.Good luck!

So online, Micro Center advertises the following bundle:

AMD PHENOM II X4 840 Boxed Processor
MSI 880G-E45 Socket AM3 ATX AMD Motherboard

for $120.

Here is the page for the promotion (which is still running): http://www.microcenter.com/specials/...ndlePROMO.html

However, when you add the bundle to cart, you get a much higher price. This was not the last of the problem, though. When I spoke to a Micro-Center representative, they ASSURED me that the proper price ($120) would be given to me when I arrive at the store to pay. The "reserve price" showed $200 but it would not be the price I'd be paying.

Hearing this, I set off to pick up the reserved bundle today. It was a THREE HOUR DRIVE.

When I arrived, an unhelpful Micro Center employee told my dad that there had been a change of policy. They did not honor the prices the Micro Center website offered (DESPITE BEING LISTED AS AN OFFICIAL STORE). They demanded a price of $200 even though the advertised and promised price was $120.

They did not give me the items I reserved. Instead, they gave me a cheaper motherboard. After a 3 hour drive, what choice did I have?

Tl;dr: Micro Center promises me a bundle at a certain price but when I arrive at the store, there apparently has been a change of policy and I am asked to pay a much, much higher price.
Contact Microcenter through Facebook, I have seen quite a few people get satisfaction with MC issues that way, since its like the CR manager posting

I've never had a problem with the Microcenter near me in Ohio, but I usually find a few items online that I want and just go to the store.... I often never end up with exactly what I was looking for on the web site originally. I end up with something a little better for a few dollars more or less depending on sale status.

My last trip for example I went in for their Sparkle GTX 460 video card and ended up leaving with an EVGA version that had better specs for only about 20% more cash. I never had the feeling that I could not have gotten their advertised Sparkle card, I asked if there was something within my budget that was better and was shown a few different models with better specs.

That's the thing I love about my Microcenter, sure it's an hour drive away but I have a store to bring my items to if there's a problem and can ask someone in person "hey, will this work if I buy these and use them togeather?" The store often also has items that I don't see on the web site or atleast couldn't find when I was looking for them.

Hello Idra,

I have monitored my e-mail (custrel@microcenter.com) and I am happy to help if you are still in search of it. I invite you to contact me directly. In reviewing some of the posts since my initial post I have seen some great comments.

First, Micro Center does monitor the web in search of customer opportunities. I personally monitor the twitter account "@MCcustrel" while my marketing division runs facebook and @microcenter on twitter. All concerns they encounter are directed to my team.

If you are not comfortable using the e-mail address you can contact our corporate office by dialing 614-850-3000, then ask for customer relations. We oversee all our retail store's escalated issues. If you use the e-mail one of my team members will personally handle your concern.

At this time I will leave the resolution of this matter in your hands and await your follow up.

Thanks in advance,
Customer Relations
MC
