GTX 460 SLI vs HD 6870 Crossfire - Page 5

Why we must have endless nvidia vs amd discussions is a wonder.

To OP, AMD has shown itself to have somewhat superior picture quality, and inferior driver quality. You will likely not notice much difference either way however.

Normally this would be a real question as 460s are one of the best price/performance ratios on the market, but at the same price CF 6870s are realistically the better choice pricewise. But as has been stated, performance wise it's going to be 6 on the hand half-dozen on the other. Go with which one you think sounds cooler and you'll be fine.

Superior picture quality?

Clearly, sir, you did not read the thread, nor the Graphics news for the past 6 months. ATI has been shown to have inferior image quality. I provided an example. http://www.tomshardware.com/news/rad...ark,11701.html

BTW - Way to go. "current drivers" then show me a review from last June. Good one. And LOL! @ "41" is only marginally better than "30." Ha-ha.

Seriously. That makes the 460 look even better by comparison..

Let's not forget you're comparing a flagship GPU to a mid range GPU. Let's not forget that's a 675mhz clocked 460, and NO ONE keeps their 460 at those clocks. Let's not forget their feature sets aren't even remotely compatible. Let's not forget multi-GPU scaling.

Edit: Lol! you even picked the 768mb version. Shame. Go back and look again at this one http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/175?vs=180

Talk about being disingenuous.

So, got that Crossfire review I asked for?

I specifically ignored your raving trolling nvidia fanboy posts. Please don't drag me in now. Yes, I'm sure nvidia will accuse AMD of whatever. I wasn't referring to ingame graphics as the differences there will be unnoticable which is precisely what I said.

If I go for GTX 460 I'll go for 1 GB DirectCu which will be Factory OCed (775 if i remember correctly) & will OC more & yes picture quality matters alot to me.

No one keeps their 4890 at stock either so your overclock argument is irrelevant. And the multi GPU scaling only improves from generation to generation, I was referring to his comparison in a single card setup.

Look I'm not going to try and sabotage this thread with a pointless argument. The point is the 6870 CLEARLY faster than the 460 and this really shouldn't even be a tough decision. If the OP is dead set on either of these 2 setups, the 6870 CF superior. End of story.

If you choose 460 there is a sale in the selling section. For around 200. Both is a good deal. They both look good. You will might see a little drop of fps but its not that big.

You can call me whatever you wish, sir, but you were proven wrong. Take a look at the links I gave you. If you can't see the difference in IQ..
Ad hominem doesn't win arguments for you.

Flawlez: The thread isn't about a single card setup, is it? And you made my point for me. "41" is only "marginally" better than "30" right?
