AMD CPU Temps

Thread Starter
Hello everyone ! I just got a hold of my first Athlon II x3 445 from my friend and I just did my first overclock last night. So far the only thing I changed was the FSB from 200 to 226 bringing up my stock 3.1 to 3.5. This is on a stock heatsink and Im wondering are my temperatures too high? I haven't changed the voltage or anything and it seems to be stable so far running prime95 for 2 hours now.

Normal Usage (idle): 42~
Prime95: 60~

Those temps are ok.

The max i think is about 70-something celsius for an Athlon II so those temps are fine. I would keep it under 65c so you have a bit of room for increased temps incase of a hot day or something.

Yeah that seems like the smart thing to do, my walls are paper thin so it gets cold/hot really easily.

So I think I'm satisfied for now till I grab a aftermarket cooler + artic silver.

60 is quite safe, you should be able to get 4.0ghz with a hyper212+ stable at around the same temp.

If it runs Prime95 for 2 hours that means the CPU is stable enough to run at full load for 2 hours without problems.

If 2 hours of prime95 is acceptable for you then you don't need to up your voltage

You have to run P95 for 9-12 hours(at least). if fails, than you have to touch voltages. Usually CPU Voltage, CPU/NB Voltage and RAM voltage.
