Because itunes invented digital music?

What a no-talent ass-clown... This officially makes him more of a tool than before.

boo hoo

terrible artists can no longer get away with releasing an album with only one or two good songs with the rest being utter trash and expecting it to sell for full price because its an entire album full of tracks.

good riddance

I will admit, I do miss the good album experience, but for every good album I was burned by what seemed like 5 or 10 terrible ones. It just wasn't worth it.

actually quite well said

I think it's quite right though, even I find myself cherry picking the individual good songs I like and trashing the rest of albums. Maybe it's because most music really isn't good anymore and finding any good music from the year 2005 or later requires some serious cherry picking, or maybe it's because people pay less attention to albums and more attention to singles. Bon Jovi is quite right.

This wholly depends on what music you listen to. For mainstream pop/rock I agree with you 100% but for those who listen to more obscure music (the genre almost doesn't matter) there are plenty of bands/albums which contain a common thread or theme throughout the entire album and are therefore better heard as a single, coherent piece.

I completely disagree. Youtube is an amazing resource for finding new bands. What happens when you hear about a new band that you think you might like but don't really know much about? You could listen to a 30 sec snipp from itunes or similar (probably won't tell you much), pirate the music, or hop onto youtube and listen to however much of their music you want to make up your mind. I have found probably upwards of 80% of my music by first trialing some songs on youtube before deciding to buy.

Bon Jovi is such a hack. Maybe when he starts trying to play music with some f***n soul rather than for commercial success I'll start to pay attention to his opinions.

Jon is right. I'll never forget the first CD I ever bought (with a Camelot Music gift coin accompanied by my first ever cd player. A Sony CFD-440 bookshelf system). AC /DC Back in Black. That was something special.

I love the people who are calling him a wash up, yet he still sells well.. Morons.. And the true morons are those who can't at least SEE where he is coming from.. Schools need to teach a perspective class.. All you do is learn how to see things from other angles, even if you do not agree with them... It's an acquired skill, and one that not many have -_-..

Personally, if it wasn't Jobs it would have been someone else.

Yeah must be nice when people would pay for a album full of tracks they could care less about when there was only 1 that they wanted. Must of been a magical time to be an artist.
