My biggest bottleneck ATM is the 512mb VRAM on each of my gpu's.
Nope A GTX295 shows something like a 25% of improvement when on a i5 2500K stock vs Q6600 @ 3.2ghz (on NOT cherry-picked tests). Now, if you take in mind that GTX590 will be like 2.5x the GTX295 then...and if you overclock the i5 2500k, more in my favour.

So, I would bet for a difference bigger than 30%.

Well since my tri-sli 9800gtx+'s are just as powerful as 1 gtx 295 then I'm not worried about it. Also, I'd like to see some benchmarks proving that on non-cpu dependent games ie (not GTA4 and others) that my q6600 @ 3.9ghz would be a significant bottleneck when compared to newer generations.

Having gone from an E8400 > Q6600 > Q9550 > i7 930, id have to say that current generation card (400/500 series, HD 5000/6000 series) are heavily bottlenecked by first generation quads.

It isn't as easy as saying "oh since it's a quad the bottleneck is minimal at similar clock speeds."

That simply isn't true. The architectural differences are actually rather significant when going from, say, a Q9550 to an i7, even at similar clock speeds. There is no doubt that the 590 would be significantly bottlenecked by anything below an i7/X6.

And also, saying that tri-sli 9800 GTXs are as powerful as a GTX 295 is pretty laughable.

You can check the link on my signature, as I did the tests myself.

And...3-SLI of 9800¨GTX+ equalling a GTX295? I'm sorry...but deffinitely not. 2 x 9800GTX+ could equal a GTX285...with 3 you would be more or less on the range of a GTX460 or GTX465, but deffinitely not a GTX295, and if we start with AA and the like even more so.

What's surprising is that the card comes packed with 1 GB less memory than AMD's offering, leading us to wonder if the slide may be mistaken.
What a dork. How much ram 580 has lol.

My vantage score says otherwise

Now as for higher resolutions absolutely it will perform better due to the larger VRAM.

Simply this.

I have said this before and this user pretty much summed it up.
