Only monitor's/Tv's I'll ever buy are going to be Samsung so that's my vote. If I ever go into a store, it's always the Samsung that visually pops out from the rest.

ASUS VE276Q. i own it an am extremely happy with it. i don't think you'll find a better monitor in this size/price range. i've viewed the Samsung in-store and it looked decent as well, but not as good as the ASUS. of course demoing a display in-store is far from an accurate comparison so take my experience with the Samsung for what it's worth.

Thread Starter
well i am picking up the samsung from microcenter when i get home from work tonight. If im not happy with it, I will go to J and R during work and get the ASUS

ill report back later tonight with my thoughts on the sammy...

I have the exact ASUS that you were looking at. In short its a great monitor, and I like it a lot especially because I paid $289 for it six months ago! You could not touch a monitor this size for a decent price then.

The colors on it are strange honestly. It took a massive amount of tweaking to get the colors and pictures correct. If you end up with the ASUS plan on spending a good hour tweaking it to your liking.

If cost was no option I would have gotten a samsung LED.

In the end I am more than happy with my ASUS though!

SAMSUNG! I love this monitor, so beautiful. It is the complete opposite of a generic looking monitor. Design is so unique

I own an asus 27", the quality of these vs the older 1900x1200 asus VK's etc are bad,

worse blacks and colours for sure, bit of light bleed.
I would assume the samsung wouldn't be as bad.

I would say go the samsung get a tv tuner included 27" is a sweet size for tv and movies for bedroom/study.
