Questions about Rampage III formula motherboard

Thread Starter
I'm not sure if there is a thread for this already so I am sorry in advance. My question is how and where do I apply the thermal paste on the northbridge/southbridge heatsink that it comes with on the rampageIII motherboard.

They already have thermal pads, the board doesn't come with thermal paste for the NB/SB...

Sorry I guess I worded my question badly. I heard that the thermal paste that is already on the nb/sb heatsink was not very good so I wanted to remove and reapply it with some arctic silver thermal compound.

If you replacing the TIM,Remove the NB/SB cooler.Clean NB/SB and heatsink with 90% alcohol.DO NOT REMOVE Thermal PAD.Replace with new TIM and put back together.

Is the thermal pad the grey squishy stuff that is on the two skinny black parts?
