Crosshair IV Exteme + 1055T will NOT go past 3.2GHz ?!?!

Thread Starter
Greetings all!

Thank you for looking at this post and all information is more than welcomed!

I have tryed all the tricks in the book to get my AMD 1055T to go past 3.2GHz paired with my ASUS Crosshair IV Extreme.

The bottom line is there must be some settings in the bios which I have placed wrong.

Those whom have this motherboard would be an extreme help!

Millions of thanks!

Kirk

Enable Load line calibration for CPU to start with, make sure RAM is set as low as it can go to start with, disable turbo mode, cool n quiet etc.

A list of the settings you have at the minute would help too

Lower the memory multiplier
Eventually as you up the bus clock it'll reach 1600Mhz again
Then lower it once more
At around 286-300 bus clock for around 4Ghz CPU, RAM should be at 1600Mhz or close enough

lol.

Sorry, that's impossible. Unless your hardware is damaged.

The following Screenshots are the setting I am inputting to my Crosshair IV Extreme motherboard. My memory is Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600MHz totalling 8GB.

The hardware is not faulty; being a technician I have tested this all.

All input welcome!

Regards,

Kirk

Are you trying to go directly for 4GHz? That might be your problem.

@ 'sub50hz' Thanks for replying; No I am not aiming for a sepcific number. Anywhere from 3.8GHz - 4.2GHz would be brilliant. There are so many settings in this motherboard I am a little out of my depth!

Confused to why it won't work. (I have tryed multiple settings a dozen times.) I do not like this board!

Go slow. Trying to crank up to 4.0 or even 3.8GHz right off the bat is often unsuccessful unless you have a golden chip or are pushing enough voltage along with it. Try increments of 10MHz on the ref clock, keep an eye on your HT Link speed (which can cause problematic overclocks, stay as near to 2000MHz as you can) and test thoroughly.

Also take off CPU voltage OCP - you never know you mihgt just have a really cack chip and needs shedloads of volts to get it going
