ibuypower RMA Broken Laptop Issue - Need Advice

Thread Starter
I purchased this Ibuypower laptop in August (the Battallion 101 CZ- Ultra)

it was the i5 540 version with 4gb ram and a 5650m. I paid 1000 USD for the laptop.

A couple of weeks in it stops working, screen doesn't always turn on when computer boots, random crashes without bsod (gpu failure I assumed) ..

Anyway, I would have sent it in months and months ago but all the way to Cali to get fixed and back is a 1 month round trip.. So, as the laptop was still technically useable I continued using it until about 40 days ago when it totally stopped booting alltogether, the mobo just wouldn't recognize anything.. So I wrote in an RMA ticket, got the number and shipped it in..

It cost $109 to ship to them, I included a letter to whomever would open the laptop that explained the issues I had been experiencing, I even called the rma number to explain to them what had been happening and to look specifically for it to fix it..

Anyway, it comes back to me on Friday (3 days ago) and at first use it appears to be fine until today, I turn it on and the screen doesn't work. I was mid game today and crash..

So basically they have fixed absolutely nothing and totally ignored me, all that they did was format the drive.. I am pretty furious and am going to call in tomorrow during business hours but I don't know what to do.. should I pressure them for a new laptop? for a shipping refund and to pay for shipping back to have it fixed? I waited an entire month for my laptop, went without it and it turns out not be working..

Help me guys what should I do, any similar stories.

No similar story here, but help... eeeh here's my thought

First off, call them up and explain what has happened don't exaggerate, don't get flustered, stay calm and collected. Literally write out your argument points on paper if need be.

Ask them to offer you a prepaid label to ship the laptop back to them for another RMA, tell then what your previous shipping cost was to drive the point home. Again, be extremely clear with what the issue is. Write another note if possible, just for mentality's sake.

Do not back down from a prepaid label, ask to speak with a supervisor if the first guy won't budge.

Get your prepaid label, ship it, and hope it gets dealt with properly.

If they fail once again, ask for a replacement laptop[and obviously a prepaid label]. Not a repair, but a replacement and see if they accept.

I've never dealt with iBuyPower before, but this is kinda what I go by.. never really failed me ^^ [except back in the day with ECS... they simply didn't care, actually had the balls to stamp a "Return to Sender" stamp on my shipment, so they never really "got the package".... I honestly laughed at that though ]
