Inkjet vs Laserprinter - what to get?

A couple years ago I got an all-in-one inkjet used (almost new, 2 months old) for a bargain $40 and picked up a CIS to go with it for $50. Another $10 for extra ink.

I figure it's gone through some 4,000 pages already and with enough ink for another 1,000 pages but I'm having to run head cleaning more often than usual so I suspect the cheap ink is starting to clog up more. Oh well, I got my money's worth out of it.

When the ink reservoir gets low or when I go 10 cleaning cycle without any improvement, it'd be time to replace it. From what I see, laser printer doesn't need any cleaning at all. But they do cost more and toner carts cost more as well. Laser printer generally lasts longer since there's no ink waste to deal with, no clogged printer head, and no band moving printer head at high speed to break apart. Also no ink drying out from extended period of disuse.

I still have another printer for photo printing so laser printer won't cause any inconvenience. I just needed something for cheap non-photo prints

Is there a list of current color laser printer in term of print per cost (ie 2 cents per color page) using only genuine toner carts? Also a few suggested color laserprinter as well. Some stores are offering $50 instant credit if I bring in old printer. maybe I'd pick one locally if it's on sale along with the $50 credit.

This little printer is pretty epic to be honest:

There is a way to trick the printer into using the toner after it senses it is low. I did this trick 8 months ago and the prints still look as if the toner was brand new. You wont regret getting this printer.
