[GT] BioWare employee accused of manipulating Dragon Age 2 Metacritic scores - Page 9

Baldur's Gate was scary good precisely because it wasn't hardcore. What we need is another Baldur's Gate and maybe another Temple of Elemental Evil (for true DnD combat).

Hardcore as in the sense of DnD table top? There aren't many good RPGs on PC that even touch BG and I couldn't even stand DnD till I played those games.

I would say I have completed roughly 25 quests and they were all in their own different unique areas and introduced specialized scenarios and combat options.

I have no freaking clue what you are talking about tbh.....
I must have gotten DA2 budget edition, I put 30 in and I've done the works =/

Note, after a few hours in I dumped down the difficulty to casual until bosses, the encounters/raining respawns were getting so predictable and annoying =/
Spoiler!!!! It was great killing that emo elf Fenris =)

Nowhere in my defense of DA 2 did you ever once hear me say something stupid about how I didn't expect some people to not like the game. Actually, if anything else I specifically mentioned you in two of my posts as a person who seemed to at least KNOW what they were talking about.

Look at your post and then look at the average hater. You have details. They've played the demo and then post exaggeration.

There ARE some issues with the game and I acknowledge that. For ME, it didn't make much difference in the fun i was having. For you, it did. There's nothing wrong with that. Again, i was the first one to actually offer a REAL critique of the game.

My issue is that practically EVERY game that comes out now is being whined about because it isn't EXACTLY the same as the game before it.....then those same people whine and complain that the gaming industry isn't trying new things! There's just been too much nerd rage over the last year or so because the games didn't come out EXACTLY the way they wanted it to. Instead of trying to have FUN or enjoying the game that was made, they feel compelled to give EVERY game the Modern Warfare 2 treatment where they moan on the forums and troll it on Metacritic.

I totally agree with what your saying, I am a fanboy. But you can't use blanket statements the have all encompassing words like all or majority with out numbers, for instance on things like claims like majority played Human (WHICH IS SPAMMED to the nth degree by trolls on the Bioware Forums.) You are a bright lad, you know this. (I was referring to all the posts, not just your response to mine.)

The whole review system is broken on both fronts for DA2. Most big name official reviews are too high, user scores are horribly fake low. I touch on this in my review of the game.

I thoroughly enjoyed Homefront and its being called utter trash to a variety of users here (who I am assuming didn't even play it.)

You may have seen the Crysis 2 bashing a few weeks ago when the demo rolled out. There are people not even buying the game because it wasn't Dx11 or something silly like that, or they are not getting on the game because it doesn't look as good as Crysis with HQ Texture + ToD mods.

You also have to remember 99% of people on the internet are full of horse dung and do the complete opposite of what they say. Boycotts and all. Some people just want to get involved in big royal rumble arguments and its guaranteed to happen on the web every time there is some ruckus, because of the anonymousness of the interwebz.

I am working on a DA2 review for OCN right now, I would rate it 75 myself. If you click my hardware reviews on the left hand side it will quickly take you to DA2. I recommend rather than basing on whats unprovable, make an intellectual addition to why you liked the game there. I also go into a great more detail in my review of things I like and dislike, but its not completed.

P.S. Funk, I hate you, I am now watching that damn Chapelle Show again hehe.

Bioware ME 3 Dev quote

Quote:
We decided that aiming wasnt really conductive of good gameplay, by allowing them to shoot enemies anywhere onscreen bullets home in on their own, we can keep the gameplay fast and enjoyable, without hassling people with the frustration of missing a shot. While maintaining the complexity of the combat by requiring the user to click the button when an enemy is out of cover, and to not click when they are in cover.

Also we decided to streamline our RPG dialogue system even further, people were confused by having 3 choices, and not knowing what those choices actually say, as they didnt always represent what was truly going to be said by clicking it. So we have cut out the alternate dialogue choices in order to minimize confusion. This allows us to focus more on the story, and to put more time into our combat gameplay, and or level design.

We have also streamlined our level design and will use the same level for the entire game, along with the same enemies. Playtests show that it allows customers to familiarize themselves with the level layout, direction they need to head in and enemies they will face in combat. This also allows us to focus more time on our dialogue system and combat systems, making them even more enjoyable.

All in all Mass effect 3 is our greatest RPG Ever, a perfect 10 out of 10
