You would probably have to look into a biostar or asrock board. Why would you drop a $220 cpu into a $150 board? Don't cheap out and get a nice board, motherboards should be near to last of the components you want to cheap out on.

Good "cheap" boards would be like the asus p8p67 pro or the gigabyte ud4.

Yeah....just like my $100 Biostar board is just so horrible right?

There is very little to be gained by buying a more expensive board, as most of the overclockability is based on the batch of the chip. Not the board.

The Asus P8P67 boards aren't the only P67 boards you know?

Thanks although im kinda confused by your wording. Are you saying that throwing a $220 cpu into a $150 board is wrong?

Ok, I am biased, but isn't everyone? Asus boards just feel better, their boards come with all the little extras that no one else provides that make my experience easier and more satisfying. Overclocking likely doesn't change much board to board, but ease of use does, at least for me. Some people are just less picky.

Oh, and you shouldn't roll your eyes too much, they might get stuck that way.

No, it isn't wrong, the cpu will fit in the socket. But I don't see the point in cheaping out on a motherboard. It's just like cheaping out on a power supply, your computer is basically a ticking time bomb.

Gigabyte has some good budget mobos. Mine was $125 although for xfire it is x16 x4.
They have a great bios, very easy to overclock.

Im sorry but your logic is flawed..a $150 motherboard is not cheap. By your own analogy, a 990x should not go in any motherboard because there are none that are = to its $1100 price. When about 80-90% of all socket 1155 mb fall in the $125-180 price range, how can a $150mb be cheap...a mb that you are using...???? Maybe im not understanding you but you make no sense..
