Asus Max Form III RMA, What to expect?

Being that the Maximus Forumla III has been out of production for some good time now and my mobo is fried fried, I was wondering if anyone here knows how Asus or in general how some of the other companies deal with the RMA process of repair and replacement of defective products?

If said defective product isn't available anymore I somehow doubt they carry a bunch in the backroom of all the out of warranty motherboards and replace as needed, though never know.


And if anyone has any opinions on this.

If they for some reason don't have one in stock (which I doubt since it was just recently that they stopped making them) they will either offer to repair yours, or send you a replacement of equal value (or there abouts)

Well I guess I should hope they have one in stock, as 1156 boards aren't "priced" the same anymore and "equal" isn't close and that super computer pos board isn't exactly winning award... (6 DIMM 16GB limit....)

They just contacted me, gotta get the serial right first...

Ya... they say look on 24 pin port, or parallel port... well there is serials on both =\\

For equal value though just out of curiosity are they taking in to accord its current or last resale value or its value at purchase when making that judgement. (Speaking in general for most RMA services)
