Hey guys i'm brand new to the forum and was just asking some great opinions in how I can obtain 4Ghz on my Phenom 1055t. Any help is appreciated

Currently I have -
1055t @ 3.7Ghz (Stable 24/7)
6GB Patriot Sector 7 DDR3 RAM @ 13**Mhz
HD 5770 @ 900Mhz/1400Mhz
500w PSU
M4A88T-M-USB3 Motherboard (I know is a problem).

Thanks in advance guys

To attain 4.0GHz, you will need around 1.47V pumping into the CPU.

use these setting's if possible.

FSB: 300
Northbridge 3000MHz
CPU: 4050MHz
RAM: 16** CL9-9-9-24-28 1.6-1.65V
HT: Keep around 2000MHz if possible.

CPU-NB 1.37-1.4V.

Keep your CPU Tempature below 60C!

Actually you'll be fine for overclocking if you get some MOSFET heatsinks (i.e. MOS-C1) on there.

There is another thing you have to get around though and that's 1333Mhz RAM. Unless rated at 7-7-7, you may have some trouble running it at 1600Mhz which is crucial for reaching 4Ghz on the CPU (~290-300 bus clock, best RAM multi is x5.33 for 1600).

The amount of voltage you will need may vary. Most require 1.45-1.5V. I require 1.425V right now, but only made possible with the low temps provided by my new NH-D14 (Phenom II likes it cool, and can run less volts when on better cooling); before that with my Xiggy DK loading at near max 60C, I needed 1.475V.

Also, slightly off topic, but why the 6GB? You do realize that once more than 4GB is used, your performance will get halved when interleaving stops and your dual channel performance is negligated by that last DIMM.
