Thread Starter
so heres the problem the best i can explain it.... well i just got the asus m4n98td evo 980a sli and its all installed and everything and most of the drivers are installed but... for some reason when i install the audio drivers for the VIA hd audion(on-board sound) it says "we can't find hd audio device" 0_0!! its starting to agravate me... but thats not all when i downloaded all the drivers for the nforce stuff (such as usb's and ethernet) the drivers download but nothing works... so ive bought an ethernet port so no problems there but would like to use the onboard one and the usb's so if anyone has any suggestions or advice pls help the best you can.... also i was thinking if reinstalling windows would fix my problem would anyone know if that might work? pleas help thanks

Are they enabled in the bios?
Do they show up in device manager? With a yellow ! perhaps.
Did you try uninstall/driver sweeper/reinstall?

Are you using the drivers from the cd?

If so,try these VIA Audio http://www.viaarena.com/Driver/v8700a_20100923.zip

MB/chipset 32-bit http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_...bit_15.49.html

64-bithttp://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_...bit_15.49.html

See if any of them help.

Good luck

That's strange for sure.
A fresh windows install may help.
One way to find out

I'm new here and maybe completely off but could you boot a live Linux disc or something similar like Bart PE and see if they work (assuming availability of drivers) to see if the problem is windows or hardware based?
