How long have your hard drives been spinning?

I got bored today and hooked up all of my old hard drives to see which ones still work and see which ones bit the dust. I tested 6 so far. All of them turned out to work except for my third oldest drive, an 11 year old 15gb WD drive. When testing I used HDD Temp to check the temps and saw that it calculated work time. Recently hearing that drives have a life expectancy of hard drives is only two to three years, I was kind of curious. My most used drive so far is a ten year old 30GB Western Digital with three and a half years of work time on it. To my amazement, I have a 10gb Seagate drive with only 9 months work time! Still got my old SATA drives and one more IDE drive to test out. Anyone still running old drives? Has anyone hit four or five years? Or more?

-10 Gb Quantum Fireball EL10: 46000 power on hours (over 5 years)
-200 Gb Caviar SE: 40000 power on hours (over 4 years)

Both still work fine. I even have an old Seagate 545 Mb HDD that still works. No idea of its power on hours since it doesn't support S.M.A.R.T. In total I have about 25 HDDs from 1990 - 2008, and only one of them (a Maxtor 60 Gb) has completely failed. Many of them do have some bad sectors though.

Barely.. that long well. i have one 250 GB Western Digital that lasts over a year and i'm not using it. Need to format it. Had a bad sata cable a couple of months and i thought it was a bad HD so i got a new one lol. Now i have 3. 2 in my closet and 1 running lol. Only if i'd decide to run them all but meh.
