i7 sandy build slow drive response

i have the sea gate 1.5tb installed on the biostar th67+ when access files it seems to take for ever to find them an when loading windows it takes like 20-25 seconds for it to even show the window symbol on load.i orderred a wd 1gig cavier black thinking maybe the drive was just slow installed copyed all files to new drive same response on boot ,this was after defragging the drive. the wd drive also seems noticably louder then the seagate,
complete system specs
2600 not k
4x2 gig gskill ddr3
biostar rev 3 th67+
evga gtx 470 sc
antec 750 ea
win 7 ultimate 64 bit

Are you running them in IDE or AHCI mode?

Also the 20-25 boot time seems about right to me. Run some HHD benches and see what you get.

maybe i should mention that my old setup was an i7 920 an windows an programs loaded faster with that setup

its not 20-25 into windows its 20-25 before the windows icon on boot up
its actually closer to 40-45 before i get into windows

sorry didnt mention the answer to your question ide mode

Did you do a fresh install with the new mobo or just swapped HDD across?

it was a fresh install of 7 when i recieved the b3 revision it did seem to take longer then it use to to expand the windows file on install

Do you have quick boot enabled in BIOS? Or any HDD detection delay set?

Could be an issue with the first released B3 boards that might get sorted by a BIOS update later.

Hi i had the same thing going on.
when you boot up and just befor the window logon screen comes up
do you get a black screen with a small line at the to and it flashes
for like 20 to 30 seconds.
if so make sure your frist boot device is your os drives not your
dvd or bluray.
