Need fast help! P8P67 doesnt boot

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

Got a problem. Just built my new machine and wanted to turn it on for the first time.

When doing so the PC stays on for like a sec and then turns off again. Without me oushing the power button aain, it does turn back on after a few secs. However, the screen stays completly black so I cant see any booting progress or whatever.

Theres no permanent beepd or something that would indicate an error. All fans are running and the only LED that I can see acitivated on the board is a green flashing onr at the lowerright corner. Its constsntly flwshing green, just looks like the power LED.

Please guys help me.... I dont get why its not *******running

Hi.

1- What are your components?

a- Check all the cable connections and be sure that you don't have any short between your case and the mobo.

b- Reset the BIOS and try again.

c- Is the PSU good? Try with another one.

clear CMOS, minimize your ram configuration and restart. The double boot is not an indicator of anything wrong.

Try running with only 1 stick of memory. If it continues to fail, try the memory in different slots.

You're computer is having an issue with cold booting. One of your components isn't getting enough power (most likely memory) and needs a jumpstart to work properly. ie it crashes but has residual power left to start and work.

agreed with ctown.

Clear the cmos. It fixed mine. It is a cold boot problem that people are having with p67 boards. I'm not too sure if its just asus... or how wide spread.

I just got my B3 board and haven't installed. Maybe its fixed, maybe a new bios will fix it. idk

just look up "clear cmos cold boot problem p8p67" you'll come across a tutorial somewhere

ACTUALLY.. do you hear a beep when you boot it? Don't forget to install the mini speaker boot. It sends a code to your motherboard to boot it otherwise follow what these guys say too.

NEVERMIND what i said.. your fans were lit. I suggest you follow your manual carefully and see why a light was lit and warned like that. Sounds like you didn't do something right.

I have the Asus P8P67 Pro and I am having ram issues also. It seems that the board does not recognize ram in the B slots. Both sticks work alone in the A slots but as soon as I slap a second one in the B slots, ram led and no boot. My system will boot with one stick in the A however. I am on the B3 boards and did not have this issue with my B2 board. Sucks. Any help out there?
