EA's pumping out lot sof good stuff. So... not sure if you're serious or not. In the past, sure, they were a terrible company, but they've really turned things around and at least have a modicum of respect for their employees and customers now.

now maybe valve can get Id to help them get to work on HL3!

L4D2 was a bit more than just new weapons, character skins, and maps. The director AI was completely revamped for the title.

You don't have to buy these titles, of course. I stopped playing TF2 after all the costume crap started coming out. And L4D/L4D2 I still play with friends. *shrug*
Actually you are incorrect and i have told you this before in another valve thread. Essentially valve has a pool of employees. L4D1 was created by turtlerock on the source engine. Valve bought out turtle rock (becoming valve south) and put more people on the development of L4D1.
After the game was complete and the DLC in progress valve got rid of turtlerock/valve south. But they didnt just kick them out, they took the majority of their employees and forced turtlerock to reform a new group.

But essentially valve doesnt hire a core team to work on one franchise. They may initially hire them for the task of working on a game but after the game is released they pool their employees and only leave a few core members to work on the game. Then they just move employees to where they are needed. So yes working on the L4D franchise took employees away from other games like HL3.

Yup. Reorgs happen all the time.

On another note, I have no hatred/dislike for Valve. I'm a fan of their games. But why is it that everyone takes what they say like it's the greatest thing ever? If EA (or another company hated by this forum) uttered the exact same words I can almost guarantee that everyone would be singing a different tune.

Good for you
Their tech support is shoddy though imo.
The techs who helped me were basically retarted.

Valve is doing a great job, just wish they would release Half-Life more often... And Steam has to be one of my favorite way to get games... I love not having to insert a disc when I want to play something and them all being centrally located within one program with chat/buddy abilities is great.

Their humble outlook on their success makes me respect them even more. They are one of the few companies that seem keep PC in their main focus; whereas other companies are making everything on console leaving PC users either in the dark or with a lower quality 'port'.

I've used EA's online chat before, seemed competent to me. Varies I guess.
