New TV

Hey guys,

So i decided to buy a new TV.

I know most of the basics, Plasma TV's offering deeper blacks, LED TV's offering lower slimmer cabinet, etc.

My main problem is that i can't decide between LED and Plasma. Basically it comes down to this: I need a new TV at least 46" and maximum 60". I've been looking at some of LG's Plasma series such as LG 50PK550 & LG 50PK950. To my understanding there is no difference between these two TV's except the design and the deeper blacks on 50PK950, is this correct?

Also, how bad is the reflection on these two Plasma's? Would it work in a relatively bright room?

And finally, as an alternative the Sony KDL46EX710, which is a bit smaller ( 46" ) but costs a bit more. Is it worth is over the LG? Thanks.

if you don't like reflection, then the EX710 isn't for you. what's your budget? For plasmas, it's really Panasonic and Toshiba.

What? Are you sure?

Afaik the reflection on the LG plasma's is bad, while reflection is almost non existent on the EX710.

I got the EX710, and in contrast to what chinesekiwi said previously, i can say that there is absolutely no reflection on the EX710. In strong sunlight there is a minimalistic reflection yes, however that is nothing compared to most of the LG plasmas.

If you're into a new set this year I would recommend the newer Samsung Plasma models PN51D550 is around the same price as that LG plasma with possibly better picture quality/black levels/3D.
