Damn you Homefront!

Thread Starter
So I got Homefront yesterday. I fired it up this morning and immediately raged as my Studio XPS's weak 4670M cried to push playable framerates. Right then and there, I decided it was time to rebuild. biggrin.gif

I've been hit with the Sandy Bridge itch for a while now, and with Shift 2 and Crysis 2 coming out soon, feels like it'd be a good time to own a desktop once again devil-smiley-019.gif

CPU: i5 2500k
RAM: 8GB (2x4GB) G.Skill RipjawsX 1600 @ 8-8-8-24
MOBO: Biostar TP67B+ B3
GPU: 6950 or GTX 570

So a few questions, does anyone have any experience with the TP67B+? I haven't really kept up with the SB mobos. I'm not looking to push 5ghz+, but 4.5 would be nice biggrin.gif Also, not looking to drop more than $200 on the motherboard, $150 preferably smile.gif

Also, do all 6950's unlock to 6970? Or are there specific brands/cards that do?

I've always had good luck with Biostar T-Series boards, so I say yes.

Not all 6950's will unlock, most will though. It's like unlocking a Phenom x2, most will unlock to x4's but don't make your whole buying decision over it unlocking.

6950 and unlock to 6970.

The GTX570 has a habbit of frying VRM's and with the GTX480 being insanely cheap and performing exactly the same, it just isn't worth it.

Most unlock, there is a thread on here somewhere.
