I'm just looking around, is it a socket 478? And would it happen to be running a 2.8ghz Northwood?

if you have the model # of the computer, just go to Hp website and you should be able to find all the drivers there. or just get a PCI lan card

I'm looking there, too. It seems thay have one server (HP 9000 800 834CH) that uses that motherboard, but clicking the link takes me to a generic support page...

don't know the socket number but its a p4 prescott and yes its 2.8GHz

don't really want to get a PCI network card because its not mine and i think the owner is wanting to sell, could cause some confusing. also the onboard sound is also a must, its a desktop computer PCI card would need to be modded in order to fit.

Does it not say a model number on the computer like HP Pavilion 7955 or something like that.
