MX-518 plus the Qck+ Heavy is the best it was my combo for as long as time until I moved to a DeathAdder.

My old MX-518 felt horrible on any hard surface. It was grinding a little bit. I always thought it was faulty mouse, but i was probably wrong. Recently i RMA'ed G500 for the same reason and they returned it to me saying "working as intended".

And no, it's not horrible on any surface.

On my QCK Heavy it is just pure perfection. Couldn't ask for anything better.
Just ignore him.

His only excuse as to why the MX518 is horrible is that it has mouse prediction, yet he claims that the Kinzu (which ironically has worse prediction) is fine because sponsored quake pros use it.

I have the particular mouse, I love it. The mousepad I use is pure plastic, (Razer Vespula), and it's as comfortable as possible.

IMO this is not a rumor. The old mx518 had 5 oval skates stratigically placed for optium glide. The new mx518 have 2 large skates and 1 smaller one. IMO the old design was better for glide. I am not sure about what sensor/s are used but the tracking feels pretty darn similar if not the same.

I can post a picture of both mice side by side once I get home if you would like, just ask.

Only time the MX518 feels like it is grinding is when it is on a dirty surface.

must do: take a wet(damp) 3M cloth and clean ur mousepad in circular motion. clean your mouse too ^^ next go buy steelseries glidedot and apply to your mousefeet.

end: smooth journey!

optional: get a new mouse feet if its wearing badly.
