dish network homeplug

Thread Starter
I just got dish network tv service today, technician hook up homeplug to my router. I ask whats homeplug for ? technician said for downloading movies didn't say anything else beside that.

is homeplug safe to hook up on my router security wise?

I though dish network mini dish on the roof supposed to handle all the download stuff.

This?

Seems to be something that will just use your bandwidth to watch movies, videos, or what ever else you can find. I guess if you ever lose reception with the satellite you can watch TV through that. I had DirectTV for years and only once or twice did I ever lose reception, and it was only for a couple of minutes. Unless HomePlug has something you are interested in, then it seems to be of no use. Security wise I believe you are fine, but if it bothers you there shouldn't be a problem with removing it.
