okay so I just alt+tab out of homefront...ONLY ONE GPU IS BEING USED? however, in furmark which I just tested both Homefront and then running furmark, Furmark uses both GPUs...

Yes. core i7's will Rape any chip in SLI or CFX performance..

The reason for this is not for the arcitecture or clockspeed. but the overkill amounts of bandwidth.. the QPI which when overclocked can reach 7000+ megatransfers per second. which is the NB. so with this much speed of communication it has no bottleneck.. this is why core i7's can handle 3X GTX 580's..

thanks for the very informative post! seems like this budget rig will become an i7 rig haha

anywho I might have found a fix waiting on the download to finish right now. I'm using 266.58 drivers and there's a new 267 out that has sli enabled for homefront. Will give it a go, but knowing that my phenom II will bottleneck my performance on possibly new upcoming games such as crysis 2...NVIDIA here I come lol

my 6870's will Crush GTX 460 sli..

Anyway's. the core i7 is Much stronger then people think...

7.2 mt/s on the QPI feed's the GPU to the CPU very fast. and with high clock speed's it can then process it as fast as it is being input. I.e no bottleneck.

HTT and FSB's Were measured in GHZ. not MT/s..

The ability for the NB to feed enough info the CPU from the GPU is one thing. but the CPU being able to handle it all with no slow down is another..

Feel the power of i7 yet?

I do believe someone mentioning something about 1600x900 in another thread, and with that specific resolution having issues in the game.

Let me see if I can find it again..
