Questions/opinions on a build

Thread Starter
I've just recently begun to put together what would be my first high-end build and have a few questions regarding components.

First, the hardware I've chosen:

> Cooler Master HAF-X 942 case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119225

> ASUS P8P67 Deluxe motherboard (1155) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131701

> XFX Radeon HD 6990 4GB - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150529

> OCZ Revodrive X2 240GB PCIe SSD (OS and high load programs) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227661

> Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB (data) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822152185

> Intel i7 2600k Sandy Bridge CPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115070

> Prolimatech Megahalems Rev.B CPU heatsink paired with a single Antec 120mm fan - Heatsink - Fan

> 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3 1333 RAM - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231402

> Corsair Profession series AX850W PSU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139015

> ASUS V238H 23" Monitor - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824236117

Now, on with the questions:

1. Will the PSU be sufficient to run this system without being in danger of not having enough power?

2. Will the HD 6990 fit in this case, and will there be any cooling issues with it based on the case?

3. Will the Prolimatech CPU cooler fit on this motherboard without obstructing any RAM slots and also be able to cool the CPU sufficiently if it was OC'd to around 4.8 ghz? If it does obstruct RAM slots can you suggest a comparable or better cooler that will not?

4. Is this a decent build? (Yes, I know this is a loaded question.)

Any constructive comments are appreciated.

Thanks.

change your RAM, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231428
you'd be better off with the D14 better performance and about same cost http://www.directron.com/nhd14.html?gsear=1 (for$69.99 you can't beat it)

You'd be better off holding out for newer SSD, that or get a SATA III 6Gb/s as in one in my sig, C300, or Intel's new one. Also the SSD you selected does not support TRIM

*EDIT*
PSU choice is fine, if your a fanatic about cable management the right choice too.

Not sure about if the 6990 will fit, I personally preferred the different layout Silverstone offers, better cooling. All cards fit in it. Over all decent build tho.

I've kind of gotten myself stuck on a PCIe SSD, but I am not planning on buying at least for a few more weeks so I will keep my eyes peeled for new SSDs.

As for the Noctua cooler, will it fit without obstructing any RAM slots?

I'd say the price is relatively fair considering if you use the BIOS switch on the card and OC it it is roughly two 6970s in one card, which at around $360 apiece would cost only 20 dollars less to crossfire, but take up one more slot.
