Thread Starter
Ok guys i can test HD 69XX with both these drives just need to know what games. I dont have much installed right and most of them i got in Steam so give me suggestion on that to test.

So far i will test:

Crysis
Warhead
3DMark Vantage, 11
SC2 Saved Game 15 mins loop.
I have Crysis 2 Demo but its down or finished i think.
JC2, Dirt 2, Mafia II all in Steam but i have to check if i have them backed up.
Want to test Metro but dont have the game, not sure if there is a demo to benchmark.
Have F1 2010

If you agree, try testing too: Dead Space 2, Aliens vs Predator, Lost Planet 2, Metro 2033.

Also some benchmarks such as Heaven 2.5.

Thanks for the interest.

See ya!

Dead Space 2 its so easy on the GPU, I dont have AVP. Also Metro needs to be updated to get bench-tool right?

Metro doesn't have a demo benchmark tool. You would have to own the game. You can just play through the demo if there is one and record FPS for a few minutes with FRAPS and then replay it similarly on the second run. Make sure you max out AA in all the games, and don't bother with Mafia II, instead do Bad Company 2.

You may want to do Aliens vs Predator if you have it, or even use the benchmark tool, that is another game mentioned. Also try Far Cry 2 if you have it, and Lost Planet 2. I'm interested to see whether you will see a similar increase as I did. Here is BC2, for example. Don't bother with Just Cause 2, either. Try to focus more on those mentioned in the release notes. The first set compares to launch drivers (for 6870 since that was the tested card) where as the second set refers to 11.2 for the card.

Just run FRAPS and set it to stop benching after 5 minutes (300 seconds) or whatever timelimit you feel is enough. Then just load up a mission and hit the benchmark key, and it will automatically stop after 5 minutes. I personally do Crack the Sky or Upriver because there are no cutscenes in the first 5 minutes and both are fairly graphically intense (Upriver more so).

To keep it consistent, try to follow the same bath and do the same thing on both runs, for example if you use a GL to destroy a door in run 1, do it in run 2 as well at the same time etc. Seems confusing but it's not, pretty easy to remember etc. The reason why I wouldn't bench Multiplayer is because it is unpredictable where as SP is almost the same in most cases.

It's the same with other games that don't have a benchmark tool, too. Metro for example is perfect because I always do the first mission Prologue, which happens to only last just over 5 minutes, and the cutscene isn't pre-rendered so it's perfect and that mission is on the surface and there is a lot going on so it's pretty intense and should really hammer FPS as there is loads of lighting and everything going on. Metro benchmark tool is just a joke.

For Crysis Warhead, do Frost or Avalanche, as they hit FPS more, though Ambush is good too.
