Who ever knew that...

Thread Starter
Hi people
I am looking to purchase a new graphic card for my i7 2600k build.
Would anyone recommend me something?
I would prefer newer video card models, and prefer the latest crap such as DirectX11, etc...
Can be either ATI or Nvidia
I have an ATI 4870 and I want the new one I get to be AS powerful as my ATI 4870 or Better.
Price range $0-150.

Thanks

The GTX 460 or 5850. I wouldn't recommend anything in the AMD 68xx series.

For $150, I really recommend tri-firing that graphics card, probably the best bang for your buck in my honest opinion. I don't know how well they stack though 3 and up.

Sell your 4870. Add the $150. Now you got enough money for 6950. Flash it to 6970. We have a winner!

Why...? The 6850 is a beastly card for $150 and overclocks like a champ. Has much better tessellation and raw performance than a 5850 for about the same or slightly cheaper price. It will also support 3D movies.

+1 for going the 6950 route. It's a great performing card for the price, especially if you unlock it.

Get the GTX 460 768 if you have to. Trust me. I had a HD 4870 for some time and got a GTX 460 768mb to hold me over after my upgrade card was DOA, and it was very impressive. Big increase over 4870. 460 was very very close to a 6850.
