Not a bad deal compared to the original $800 price.

Good luck with the Extreme Series.

Refurbished, only 30 day warranty would be a big turn off for me.

Indilinx controller so they are basically OCZ Vertex 1.

I wouldnt buy a refurbished hard drive, or SSD, unless a better warranty was offered. If its refurbished that means it possibly had a problem previously.

My Mushkin IO is a refurb, and it's gone 4 months w/o a single issue. (Indilinx) That said, I only invested $40 in it $255+tax is too much of a gamble for my taste. Cut that price in half and I'd chance it.

I assume most SSD returns are firmware related, rather than physical failures, which should make them relatively minor fixes. (Users probably bricked 'em IMO)

MicroCenter offer service plan on all items that they sell. What happens is you pay about 20 bucks for a 3 year replacement plan which guarantees that if you ever have a problem with your item. They will give you a new one. if they dont have the same item anymore, they give you a storecredit which never expires to buy something eles.
you can take advantage of this option in many different ways, such as using it as a step up plan.

so 20 bucks for a warranty like this? worth it if a MC is near you.
