Effect of recent events on GT 2150 group buy?

Thread Starter
I was wondering if anyone had any info on the status of the group buy of Gentle Typhoons? I think someone said the way we were going about getting them was via a cargo ship from Nidec factory in Japan, so I would totally understand if the group buy is getting canceled or delayed indefinitely. I'd just like some confirmation so I can put forward some money for some fans now if it's not on anymore.

same here,i was wondering when it might start, i have kept my eye on water cooling for a while now and there is nothing about it.

If the order of 2150s has been canceled i am happy to start again, i have a lot of free time on my hands so i can help out.

Chipp edited the post by the OP to state that it's on hold at the moment as the original management of the project has been out of touch for too long. Another post I saw by Tator said that they're going about the project in a different way and that OCN is still going to bring us the opportunity to get those fans. Aside from that there is no longer any time frame except for "when everything is ready"

I've more or less given up on it. Something'll happen eventually, but not worth holding out if you need fans.

As it seems now, with the work that needs to be done no one will get their fans before the Fall. Orders still need to be counted, an order to the company needs to be placed, company will take maybe 1~2 months to process the order (depending on fan leads/connectors), shipment will take several weeks to get here, then payments need to be recieved, and then finally orders are sent out. And we don't know what affect the crysis in Japan has on this plan.

On a good note, it sounds like from Tator Tot that the TankGuys would be involved. They have the resources to handle the ordering, payments, and shipments.

I'm willing to wait another month for news before I cancel my order. I would like to get my rig running eventually without having to resort to temporary fans.

Similar boat here- I am willing to wait a lil longer on word but at some point I will break off and hunt down the 20+ Gentle Typhoons I need/want... whether that is thru the OCN group buy or if they are AP-15's will all be based on information being released within the next month or so....

Was about to start a thread but finally saw this in the search topics, I can wait, but I would like to have an statement to know if it's being worked on, on hold, or whatever, I can now access to the High-speed version ones 3000-4250-5400rpms at $24 each one, but they are not exactly what Im looking for.

^yeah. I'm also thinking that we're going have to do a recount of how many people want to participate since it's been so long. I'm wondering if we'll even be able to retain the prices we had before.

Well I ended up finding the 24 AP-15's I needed since the 15% off on Case Labs expires next week - I figured I would just jump on the currently available fans and get a hefty discount on my next build as well.

Good luck to the rest of the crew!
