Sounds like firearms legislation.

On topic: More power grabbing and corporate corruption of government.

Stealing content is stealing. I think the way we look at intellectual property has to change, but I do not in any way condone the exchange illegal exchange of copyrighted material.

If nothing was taken (physically removed) nothing was lost and thus nothing was stolen.

If you still can't find another product that you like, then make your own damn thing.
lol. Yes, the greedy consumer.

I steal from the radio when I record a song on the tape recorder. No one will buy music if they play it on the radio for free since everyone will just record it.

No one will go to the movie theaters if the betamax/VHS is released.

Your logic is sound.

The US is a country founded on education and information. Now, they're slashing education/information budgets, and cracking down on things that need not be cracked down upon. And they're getting away with it. They're able to justify it because everyone is pissed about how much the government spends. The reality is, they're avoiding the real budget breakers and avoiding correcting bad economic practices. The corporations are running the US, and they don't care if it crashes and burns.

Everyone might as well spit on Washington's grave.

"Where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths, which are the instruments of investigation in Courts of Justice?.... Promote, then, as an object of primary importance, institutions for the general diffusion of knowledge."

This makes me ask: why is lobbying still legal?

Also I wanted to point this out: American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 $7.2 billion for complete broadband and wireless Internet access. I had a hunch this "investment" was too good to be true (for the little guy, that is).
