New desktop build - suggestions/help

Can I get some help with these please:

Would like to keep the budget as minimum as possible with the following config.

Main OS on this system will be Linux. Will be using it to run couple of VMs, Adobe CS, graphic design programs, and CAD.

1. CPU - AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Thuban 2.8GHz Socket AM3 125W

Need to build the system around this CPU

2. Motherboard (probably a 880 chipset) - I need your help here - looking for one without integrated video, Not a gamer, so one x16 PCIe slot will do, Need SATA6 - for SSD, would not like to pay a huge premium for USB3, no need for PATA, would like to find a board with good layout like having access to most of the ports from the front.I am assuming everything else is std.

3. GPU - Redeon HD 5670 or nvidia equivalent (their linux drivers are far more stable) if there is one ( I would have gone with nvidia if they had a decent card in the same price bracket)

4. Memory - haven't looked it up - i usually wait till I pick the mobo+cpu, will need 8gb does not have to be the fastest pair but should be reliable.

5. Q: PSU - need help here - need a good quality one. Dont mind paying a premium.

Rest of the stuff, i can reuse the old stuff - have a hard drive, monitor, dvd drive and case.

If your going to have a GPU then you do not need Onboard Video which will save you some money in the MOBO.

ASUS makes a good quality board.

That PSU is overkill,he will only need 300w in reality,so a good 500w would be more than enough.

Check out the one I have in my signature. It is a pretty good board. Cost was about 120.00 I think. Though I believe it lacks USB 3.0 ports. I dont think you are that worried about that anyway. I am running an HD6970 in my rig. Though I paid out the rear end for it. I actually paid too much for what I am running right now. but I bought the parts at different times. It started as an upgrade for my dual core machine and turned out to be a complete new build.
