Phenom BE Overclock Multi or FSB? - Page 2

I was able to run a few phenom ii x4's up to 3.8~3.9ghz on a hyper tx3, I would just save the money and buy a new cpu instead of upgrading heatsinks. Does your motherboard have ACC? If so you could spend $85 and get a dual core phenom ii and likely unlock it to a quad. There are a lot of sub $100 options as far as athlon ii and phenom ii cpu's go, the original phenoms are very difficult to overclock almost to the point it's not worth it.

I figured that my cooler is not too good, and I think I will have to upgrade. 14x multi w/ +0.075v (2.8ghz @ 1.4v) was looking alright, but blue screened overnight. I've currently got it at 13.5 w/ +0.050v, which I'm not even sure is stable. I might get a new cooler and then a processor, as I will need a cooler for my new one anyway, and I will see if that makes any difference to my current set-up. For the same price of $109 (AU) should i get the CORSAIR COOLING HYDRO H50 CPU COOLER instead of the NH-D14 which is $10 more, as the Corsair is liquid cooled?
